Main uses of aluminum paste

The main role of aluminum paste in aerated concrete production is that it reacts with calcium hydroxide to produce gas and form a porous structure inside the block. During the batching process, the aluminum paste is first added to the mixing tank and mixed evenly with the aluminum paste, followed by the addition of raw materials such as quicklime, gypsum and fly ash. The aluminum powder reacts with alkaline substances in the slurry to release hydrogen, forming bubbles, which expand the concrete and form a lightweight porous body. The weight of the aerated concrete blocks produced in this way is generally 500-700kg/m³, which is only 1/4-1/5 of clay bricks and 1/5 of ordinary concrete. It is a typical representative of lightweight concrete, which can significantly reduce the self-weight of the building and reduce the structural burden by more than 40%.

In addition to its lightweight characteristics, aluminum paste also brings other advantages. First of all, its unique porous structure gives aerated concrete good sound insulation performance. A 100mm thick wall can absorb 41 decibels of noise, providing a quiet living environment. Secondly, due to its light weight and good overall performance, aerated concrete blocks have a certain earthquake resistance and can withstand the impact of earthquakes. Furthermore, aerated concrete has outstanding thermal insulation performance, with a thermal conductivity of 0.11-0.16W/MK, which is only 1/4-1/5 of clay bricks. A 20cm thick wall is equivalent to the thermal insulation effect of a 49cm solid brick wall. Finally, due to the slow water absorption and moisture conductivity of the pore structure, when aerated concrete blocks are used in humid environments such as bathrooms, tiles can be directly pasted after wall treatment, and the anti-seepage performance is excellent.
